Dead Earth Politics - The Queen Of Steel EP
Self-Released, 2014
1. Redneck Dragonslayer
2. The Queen Of Steel
3. Madness Of The Wanderer
What we have here is a quirky little stop gap EP from a band that really hones the Texas groove sound. Dead Earth Politics have been around for about a decade and have one full length CD and now a pair of EPs, though they are hard at work on their new album. In the meantime, we have this little three track to wet our appetites. This is a special name your price download EP that will be showcased by the band at the SXSW Festival.
There is some really good groove happening on here with a bit of a tongue in cheek fun (Redneck Dragonslayer anyone?) and a racy album cover to grab some attention. The musical swagger however, is there to back it up once the scantily clad warrior queen grabs your attention!! The Queen Of Steel will indeed run you through!!
Not many groove bands tackle the fantasy elements, we have a Pantera meets HammerFall collision that just sort of makes you either hold your head in shame or chuckle merrily at the fun, I choose to do some chuckling!
A fun little piece of metal, though way too short!! Bring on the full length!!
