Corruption are a Polish band that have been around in one form or another since the early 90's, having started out as a deathy doom crossbreed of metal. Recently however, they have really refined their sound into a fun Southern-style stoner band with a bit of a boozy vibe going for it. I think the current sound is much more entertaining but that could well be a personal thing.
I have to say that there is always room for a bit more stoner metal if it is done right. I have a soft spot for that genre and Corruption have quickly become a solid blip on the landscape with this album. Devil's Share has the sound down to a science with just enough of a production level to hit it out of the park. From the moment that Hang'n'Over starts to blast out of your speakers, Corruption shows they are here.
The whole CD is chock full of good to excellent tracks and the CD really blazes by at a quick pace. The vocals are a nice mid range with a bit of gravel to give the album it's boozy vibe. The guitars are nice and chunky and the rhythm section helps keep things clipping along. Don't forget to check out the cover mash-up near the end of the CD with the clever title of Born To Be Zakk Wylde, an ode to their Southern sound.
It is time to get Corrupted!!
