Coming out of Italy comes this hard rocking five-piece band delivering an interesting style of straight up no frills metalrock. Influences from Thin Lizzy and AC/DC to Dio and Accept, you get a very 80's feel mix that comes across strongly. There are a few minor nuances that distract from the overall picture but they are few and far between and don't really bring the CD value down by any measurable degree.
The first of these is a production that is a bit on the meek side. The sound is just a bit uneven in spots and could stand to be tweaked. Secondly, as is the case with so much Italian metal, Paulie's accent is very thick and this takes a bit to get used to. Once you do though, which usually takes a couple listens, then the CD really steps into its own. After listening to it numerous times now in the last couple of weeks I no longer really notice and the CD has really soared up my list of nice acquisitions lately.
As for the tracks themselves, just about everything on here has it's good points. Some of the songs are a bit uneven as far as their full composition, but every track has something on it's own to offer you. Mental Blindness, Red Blood River, Burn The Witches, In Your Faces, A-Train, Night Of The Storm II and A Chopper From Hell are probably among my favorites but I encourage you to find your own favorites.
Even though there are a couple of detractions here, they don't do a whole lot to take away from what is otherwise a really fantastic find. I give this CD very high marks for it's enjoyment level. Fans of Krokus, Quiet Riot and traditional 80's metal should enjoy this.
